Getting to the Trail - by train, bus, bike and car?

The following information is a guide to connecting cyclists to the Northern and Southern Trail terminus via train, bus, car, taxi or shuttle bus.

Heading direct to the Northern Terminus (Mundaring) via train and bike.

On Arrival at the Terminals T1 or T2: Unpack and assemble your bike and board the High Wycombe/Airport Line train to Meltham Station. There, you will need to board the Midland Line train to Midland Station. From Midland Station, you will need to use your GPS or google maps to ride to Bellevue RSL Club, where the Railway Reserves Heritage Trail begins. Ride this Trail for around 12km and you will arrive at the Northern Terminus of the Munda Biddi Trail, at Sculpture Park.

On Arrival at Terminals T3 or T4: Unpack and assemble your bike, you will need to ride to the Redcliffe Station (on the High Wycombe/Airport line) its about 10 minutes walk or 8 minutes ride from T3 and T4 terminals (SEE MAP). It's best to unpack your bike at the terminal and ride across. From Redcliffe, take the train to Meltham Station. There, board the Midland Line train to Midland Station. From Midland Station, ride to Bellevue RSL Club, where the Railway Reserves Heritage Trail begins. Ride this Trail for approx 12km and you will arrive at the Northern Terminus of the Munda Biddi Trail.

Heading direct to the Southern Terminus (Mundaring) via train and bike.

If your'e choosing to start your ride at the Southern Terminus of the Trail in Albany, start your journey by boarding the Transperth train via the High Wycombe/Airport or Redcliffe train services or the Midland line and get off at the East Perth Terminal/Station.This is the central bus station for all Transwa (country service buses) in Western Australia. The bus arrives and leaves in Albany from the Railway station. Please read bus details below.

Travelling to the Munda Biddi Trail using the TransWA country buses

TransPerth metropolitan buses do not allow bikes onboard, however the TransWA country buses do and is limited to country/regional areas of WA. All journeys on TransWA buses need to be pre-booked especially when travelling with your bike (mention that on booking). Usually there is only two bikes per bus trip are allowed Notify the booking agent that you have a bike when making a booking. The central station for the TransWA buses is at East Perth. Getting to the Trail from your accommodation:

Depending on where you are staying, the easiest way is to get yourself to the Trail is to take the train via the Midland Line. Then board the train to Midland StationFrom Midland Station, get on your bike and ride to Bellevue RSL Club, where the Railway Reserves Heritage Trail begins. Ride this Trail for approx 12km and you will arrive at the Northern Terminus of the Munda Biddi Trail.

Utilise the Google/Apple Maps App on your phone to help you navigate to this station. Select "Public Transport" and "Train" once you have input "Bellevue RSL" from your location.

Getting to the Trail by car: 

Drive to the Northern Terminus located at Sculpture Park, Mundaring -  Jacoby St, Mundaring WA 6073. 

Getting to the Trail by taxi or shuttle: King Mini Bus are Members of the Munda Biddi Trail Foundation. Give there team a call and they can transport you from the Airport or any location, to the start of the Munda Biddi Trail. They have a fleet of custom made taxis widened to fit multiple bike packing bikes.

There are also a few local shuttle services along the Trail - in Nannup, Dwellingup and Denmark. Ask at the local visitor centres along the Trail.
