Continue ShoppingThe Munda Biddi Trail thrives thanks to the incredible dedication of our volunteers, who generously donate their time and effort to enhance and maintain the trail experience for all riders. Their commitment is the backbone of our success, allowing us to reach our goals and build a stronger trail community.
While we are known for our trail maintenance program, there are many ways to get involved, from events and administration to communications, data collection and leadership roles.
We're currently transitioning to Better Impact, our new volunteer management platform.
Soon you'll be able to register, access resources, log volunteer hours and stay connected with volunteer opportunities all in one place.
Interested in volunteering now? Email admin@mundabiddi.org.au and we'll help you get started through our new onboarding system.
Sectional trail inspections and maintenance are the most common volunteering activity at the MBTF. The Trail is made up of 108 maintenance sections, from low to high maintenance and 4 to 25km in length. Sectional volunteers visit their sections quarterly or more regularly. Perth-based volunteers often need to travel some distance to maintain their section. Maintenance can be done solo or in a team.
RTF volunteers assist with our higher-level trail maintenance including trail building, erosion control, infrastructure construction and trail surveys. You need to have basic outdoors skills and some experience in maintenance, landscaping, or construction. Good health and stamina are a must, but age is no barrier – our RTF volunteers’ range in age from teens to 70+. RTF volunteers can access a range of training opportunities and work with diverse teams in varied environments. RTF deployments range from 1 – 3 days in length, depending on location.
The MBTF Board comprises six elected members and one member nominated by the Director General of the DBCA. Board members act on a voluntary basis, attending one meeting per month and contributing approximately eight hours per month for Foundation‐related activities outside of meetings.
